  Resumen:
En el presente trabajo se estudiaron las relaciones entre el tipo de régimen alimentario y los caracteres anatómicos del aparato digestivo en las especies Loricaria anus, L. vetula, Plecostomus plecostomus, P. commuersoni y Prochilodus lineatus.
Se abordó el problema de la nutrición natural por análisis del contenido gastrointestinal; la organización del aparato digestivo mediante estudios anátomo-histológicos; la determinación de las relaciones morfométrica y gravimetrícas en los distintos órganos digestivos (estómago, intestino, hígado y apéndices pilóricos), comparamos entre sí y con respecto al largo Standard y peso total del cuerpo, con el fin de obtener los valores de los coeficientes intestinal y celomático.
Todos estos datos correlacionados con los caracteres fisiográficos y biológicos del hábitat de la nutrición permitieron establecer las relaciones ecológicas, las que sirvieron para aclarar el carácter y grado de las adaptaciones al régimen alimentario.

Abstract:
This study summarizes a large number of observations about natural nutrition and adaptation of the digestive apparatus to the diet, in the following species: Loricaria anus, Loricaria vetula, Plecostomus plecostumus, Plecostumus commersoni (family of Loricariidae) and Prochilodus lineatus (family Anostomidae).
The problem of natural nutrition has been considered by analysis of the gastrointestinal content, the organization of the digestive apparatus by anatomical and histological studies; the determination of the morphometric and gravimetric relations of various digestive organs (stomach, intestine, liver, pyloric appendices) by comparison to the standard length total weight of the body, in order to obtain the values of the intestinal and coelomatic coefficients (Ri and Rii respectively). This data have contributed to explain the character and degree of adaptation to the diet of the species considered in the present work.
